New Parkrun going strong in Godalming
Parkrun is a timed 5 km run that happens on a Saturday morning at 9 a.m. all over the world! And a new Parkrun started at Broadwater 6 weeks ago. It is a flat two lap course which is partly on tarmac and partly on tracks. Read more about Broadwater Parkrun here https://www.parkrun.org.uk/broadwater
You need to remember to register for parkrun and print off a bar code to take to the run so that you can get a time. It all becomes clear after your first event! You don’t need to be fast, there is always a tail walker who brings up the rear, so you can start by walking and gradually build up to running the whole thing. If you don’t want to run but would like to get involved then you can volunteer via the same website, everyone is very friendly and supportive and parkrun is only possible because of the wonderful volunteers who support it each week..
If you want to start running then Couch to 5km is a good place to start https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/couch-to-5k-week-by-week

Dr Jones takes part in either the Guildford or Broadwater Parkrun regularly and would love to see more of the staff and patients at Binscombe taking part in this great event
