Message Regarding Tier 4 Restrictions

As Waverley will be entering tier 4 restrictions from Boxing Day, we wanted to reassure our patients that the surgery will remain open.

It is important to keep everyone safe so please consider whether a face-to-face appointment is necessary in order to help reduce footfall in the surgery. We are able to deal with many problems over the phone or via a video consultation and we can carry out reviews for many long term conditions remotely too. Our experienced Receptionists will be able to help you decide which type of appointment is best for you.

We have some flu clinics scheduled over the next couple of weeks; these are planned to take place in a socially-distanced way and will still go ahead as planned.

Please remember you and your household will need to self-isolate if someone has symptoms; this should be until a negative test is received, or for 10 days if the result is positive. If you have a face-to-face appointment booked and are self-isolating, please contact us to rearrange this; you should not travel to the surgery.

There are new travel restrictions for people who have travelled to the UK from South Africa in the past two weeks. These people and their household should quarantine for 2 weeks from arrival into the country, and again should not come into the practice.

With regards to the Covid-19 vaccine, these are being administered at a central hub; at the moment patients who are aged 80 and over are being offered the vaccination. Some appointments have already taken place and we will continue to invite patients in the 80’s and over group as and when appointments become available. Please do not contact the surgery to enquire about the vaccination – we will contact you.

We would like to say thank you again to our patients for the support you have given us this year and we hope you have a Merry Christmas.
