BMA Collective Action - What Does it Mean at Binscombe?

Following the recent announcement by the British Medical Association relating to collective action by GP Practices, we wanted to reassure our patients to continue to use GP services as usual.

We agree there is a real problem in General Practice and recognise how frustrating it is that, as a profession we can’t deliver the service we want to.   We would like to reassure you that we have not chosen to take any action that could have a negative impact on our patients.

The surgery remains open and you should continue to attend appointments and seek help from us in the normal way.  Patients can also continue to utilise services offered by pharmacies (including the Pharmacy First service), walk-in centres, the NHS App and NHS 111, and should call 999 or use A&E for serious or life-threatening conditions or medical emergencies.

Our patients remain our priority and our aim is to continue to offer the highest level of care within our community.

Thank you. Your prioritisation of patients is much appreciated. A 1.9% increase was always too low and something closer to 7% now seems possible. Thank you for being patient whilst negotiations continue.
