Our Values

 

We have written a full statement of our values here, a document to which we have given a lot of thought and, while we may not always live up to them in practice, encapsulates the values  we would always like to aim for. We try to be a caring, responsive practice and to enjoy working together as a team and with our patients. We are keen to hear feedback from our patients as it is always encouraging to hear when things go well, and even more important that we hear when things have not gone well. GP and Nursing Training

 

We have been a training pratice since 2000.  Qualified doctors spend a year working with us as the final part of their training in General Practice, and are always supervised by one of the permanent GPs in the practice and mentored by one of the GP trainers.  Being involved in training helps all the doctors at the practice to remain stimulated by the latest developments in medicine.  Doctors in training are required to video some of their consultations and you may be asked to participate in this, but it is always on a voluntary basis. Sometimes we also train Foundation Doctors who have been qualified between one and two years, and have yet to decide whether to become hospital doctors or GPs.

We also enjoy hosting student nurses who complete a placement in primary care with us, being supervised and trained by our nursing team, and hopefully becoming inspired to work as a practice nurse in the future!

 

From time to time we will have a medical student spend a few weeks with us in order to learn about General Practice, They sometimes sit in with a doctor during consultations and we will try to inform you whenever this is the case. They will only stay for the consultation if you are entriely happy for them to be there.
